The Belgium-based electronic music festival is scheduled to kick off its first weekend this Thursday.

On Wednesday evening (around 6 p.m. local time), a massive fire erupted during a pyrotechnics test on Tomorrowland’s iconic Main Stage in Boom, Belgium, destroying approximately 75 % of the structure and spreading into nearby woodland.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported — all ~1,000 staff present were safely evacuated — and emergency services have largely contained the blaze, though full control is still pending. With Friday’s full Main Stage schedule disrupted, the team is finalizing contingency plans — such as relocating acts to other stages — to deliver a seamless festival experience from Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20 (weekend one), followed by the second weekend from July 24–27. Belgian authorities, including Antwerp prosecutors, have launched an investigation into ‘unintentional arson’ as the likely cause — possibly linked to the pyrotechnics test — and fire‑safety experts are gathering evidence at the site.
