Timmy Trumpet — the Australian DJ, producer, and trumpet-wielding festival favorite — has announced he’s taking a break from touring and public appearances. In a heartfelt post, he called 2025 “the toughest year of my life.”
Most immediately, he will step away from touring for “a few weeks.”
He also confirmed that the 250th episode of his weekly radio show (SINPHONY Radio) will be his last — at least for now.
Additionally, Timmy said he’d be taking time off social media and public engagements as well.
Earlier in 2025, Timmy suffered an ankle injury that forced him to cancel several European shows.
But his decision to take a full break goes beyond physical recovery. In his statement, he pointed to challenges to his emotional well-being and underscored the importance of mental health. “I have a new-found respect and understanding for the importance of mental health,” he wrote.
He notably shared:
“This has been the toughest year of my life … I’m only human.”
Given his career’s previous pace — virtually nonstop touring, festival performances, and media output — stepping back is a major shift for an artist accustomed to constant movement.
For fans: Some upcoming shows may be postponed or canceled. There’s also likely to be a gap in new material, public appearances, and radio-show content for the foreseeable future.
For the industry: It adds to a growing trend of EDM artists being open about mental health and burnout. The high-energy festivals and relentless schedule can be intense, and Timmy’s break highlights the toll it can take even on top-tier performers.
For Timmy’s legacy: The pause could mark a turning point — one that allows for recovery, creative recharge, and potentially a refreshed return. Or it could lead to more long-term changes in how he approaches his career.
Mental-health awareness in music — Timmy’s candidness helps destigmatize burnout, stress, and emotional struggles among performers. It’s a reminder that even stars need breaks.
The cost of success — For an artist known for bringing high-energy performances, constant touring, and huge festival sets, the pressure to keep going can be immense. His announcement shows that success comes with a human side — one that needs care.
A moment to recharge — Sometimes stepping away isn’t giving up — it’s self-preservation. This break might lead to new inspiration, sound, or a healthier pace for the future.
That Timmy gets a well-deserved rest — physically and mentally.
He returns when he’s truly ready — with new music or renewed energy.
His honesty inspires other artists (and fans) to prioritize mental health over hustle.
The EDM community supports him with understanding and patience during this pause.
