DJ Launches GoFundMe Campaign to Replace Urine-“Soaked” Decks
A Chicago-based DJ, known as NERV MHZ, found himself in an unfortunate situation when his DJ decks fell victim to an unexpected mishap during a Thanksgiving rave – they were drenched in urine. What initially seemed like a typical malfunction mid-set turned out to be a far more distressing scenario as a partygoer accidentally urinated above the DJ booth, causing irreparable damage to the equipment.
In response to this unfortunate incident, NERV MHZ took matters into his own hands, launching a GoFundMe campaign in early December. The purpose? To collect donations in order to purchase a new board and ensure that the beats keep pulsating at future events.
“sooo ravesgiving was lit but someone got too lit and peed above the DJ booth and it ended up leaking down onto our DJs board when it was put away” NERV MHZ shared in a GoFundMe post. “The board was completely soaked in pee and doesn’t work anymore ://. anything truly helps. thank you.”
Reports indicate that the damaged equipment in question is the now-discontinued Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000.
Since its launch on December 10th, the campaign has amassed over $500, a testament to the generosity and solidarity of the music community. NERV MHZ expressed profound gratitude for the unexpected support received, emphasizing the heartwarming unity demonstrated by those who either contributed or spread the word about the cause.
“From the bottom of my heart, a ginormous thank you so much to everyone who donated.” NERV MHZ expressed. “To be honest, we did not expect this much support towards this cause but we’re extremely grateful for every single one of you that either shared or donated. Like, $500 is insane!Thank you once again. P.S. To all the donors, a very special mix will be created to share our gratitude through an auditory experience. Love, NERV.”
Utilizing the collected funds, NERV MHZ managed to invest in a Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ, an essential step towards restoring the musical momentum disrupted by the unfortunate incident.
